There are three types of accessible transit services in Nelson/Slocan Valley.

Low-floor buses provide wheelchair and scooter accessible service on transit routes throughout the region. Low-floor buses are equipped with a ramp, have no entry steps and have a kneeling feature that lowers the entry level for passengers who use walkers, crutches or who have difficulty climbing stairs.

For people with disabilities who are unable to use the fixed-route transit system without assistance, handyDART provides door-to-door transportation to and from accessible building entrances.

The Taxi Saver Supplement service enables the handyDART operator to dispatch trips to taxi companies to provide additional service at times of high demand when handyDART cannot accommodate all trip requests.
