Fare Zone Boundaries
The transit service area is divided into two fare zones. The
fare you pay is based on the number of zones you are travelling
through.
When you make a trip that crosses a zone boundary, you will
pay a multi-zone fare if you are using cash or tickets.
Monthly Passes are valid region-wide.
Kitimat Transit Fare Zones
A one-zone fare applies to travel within the city area. A two-zone
fare applies if the trip starts or finishes in the Industrial
section of the city across the Kitimat River. Ask your diriver
for a two-zone transfer when you are travelling in two zones
and have to transfer to another bus.
Save on Fares
Tickets: Save when you buy a sheet of 10 tickets.
Monthly Pass: When you purchase a monthly pass, you
have unlimited travel on the transit system for a month for
the same price as 13 return trips.

and Monthly Pass vendors.
Transfers
If you are paying cash or using tickets, and have to travel
on more than one bus to complete your trip, you will need a
transfer from the driver.
Be sure to request your transfer as you pay your fare. If
you have to take more than two buses to complete your trip,
you can use the same transfer.
Transfers are free, and they are good for one-way travel,
valid for the first connecting bus at transfer points only.
When you board your connecting bus, show your transfer to the
driver with the transfer facing up, and the time showing.
BC Bus Pass Program
For senior citizens and persons with disabilities on restricted
income, there is an annual bus pass that allows unlimited travel
on the Kitimat Conventional Transit System. To apply for the
BC Bus Pass, call the Bus Pass office at 1-888-661-1566. Have
your Social Insurance Number on hand when you call.
Ticket and Pass Outlets
Monthly Passes and tickets are available at the District of
Kitimat office, Tamitik and Riverlodge. Student passes are also
available at Mt Elizabeth Secondary School from September to
June.
