handyDART is door-to-door transportation for people with
disabilities. Any person who is unable to use regular transit
due to a physical or cognitive disability is eligible for
handyDART service.
Registration
You must be registered with handyDART before you can use
the service. Registration is free. To register, call 250.632.8666
between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Or download the PDF of the

Booking a Trip
To book a trip, call 250.632.4449. Please give at least
24 hours notice prior to your trip. We will try to accommodate
same-day trip requests. Trips between 7:00-8:30 a.m. and 6:00-7:30
p.m. must be pre-booked.
Please be flexible, as you may have to adjust your trip time
to fit the busy handyDART schedule. handyDART is a shared-ride
public transit system.
Trip Guidelines
You can take up to two handyDART round trips (or four individual
one-way trips) per day at the regular fare, which is subsidized
by the District of Kitimat and BC Transit.
Passengers can choose to take more than four trips per day
by paying the full cost of the additional trips. Your handyDART
dispatcher will be able to provide you with additional trip
cost rates upon request.
There are two types of service:
- Regular subscription trips once a week or more often.
- One-time trips for purposes such as shopping, social visits
or recreational activities.
Cancelling a Trip
If your plans change, please call 250.632.4449 as soon as
possible so that we can schedule a trip for someone else.
When the handyDART Arrives
Please be ready when the handyDART arrives. Keep in mind
that other passengers may be waiting.
Hours of Operation
The handyDART operates every day between the hours of 7:00
a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
