The City of Kamloops and BC Transit held a series of Open Houses in January to view proposed transit service expansion in the Sahali and Aberdeen areas.

The discussion between residents and staff explored options to reduce travel times and to provide more direct service between Sahali and Aberdeen, Aberdeen and Sahali shopping district, and Sahali and Aberdeen Mall. The discussions were based on feedback collected from residents during the public engagement process for the 2006 Kamloops Transit Business Plan.

The City and BC Transit would like to thank everyone for their input. The service was approved by Council on February 3. At this time the service expansion has been postponed for further budget review by BC Transit. Watch for more details later in Spring 2009.
