handyDART is a transportation service for persons who have
a disability that is sufficiently severe that the person is
unable to use conventional transit service without assistance.
The service is provided to and from accessible building entrances.
You must be registered with the handyDART office before you
can use the service.
In the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, this service is
operated by Farwest Bus Lines Ltd.
handyDART Registration
Registering with handyDART is free and easy. Simply call 842-2134
from Hazeltons, or 1-877-842-2131 from surrounding areas from
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. If the dispatcher
is not available, please leave a message.
The handyDART staff will ask your name, mailing address and
telephone number, then send you an application package. Please
complete the application and return it to the office.

Booking a handyDART Trip
To book a trip with handyDART, call the transit office at
the number listed above. If the dispatcher is not available
at the time you called, someone will call you back to confirm
your booking.
Please call at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled pickup
time.
There are two types of service:
- Regular subscription trips once a week or more often.
- One-time trips for purposes such as shopping, social visits
or recreational activities.
Cancelling a Trip
If your plans change, and you no longer need your handyDART
reservation, please call us at 842-2134 from Hazeltons, or 1-877-842-2131
from Gitsegukla as soon as possible so that we can schedule
a trip for someone else.
handyDART Fares
handyDART fares are the same as the fares
for the the regular transit service.
